KFC apologizes
11:53 AMFree chicken? Great! Short supply? Not so great. KFC recently teamed up with Oprah Winfrey for a nation-wide promotion offering customers a free two-piece grilled chicken meal. What they did not expect however was the massive turnout for the promotion. Originally the offer was through May 19 but due to "excessive lines at restaurants around the country and the fact that the extreme demand had, at many locations, far exceeded supply for the product", the offer was pulled back on Friday according to Roger Eaton, President of KFC. However, KFC is offering a "rain-check" to honor these coupons at "a later time", whenever that is... I want the five minutes it took me to walk to the counter and ask for the free chicken back, thanks!
